Do I have to register my hands when I become a black belt?No, that is an urban myth. Martial Artists are not required to register their hands.

What will I need to get started?We will provide all the necessary documentation at your first lesson which will include a compulsory form for an annual license.

Do I have to be in good shape before I start?No, you will get into shape as you train. We have a series of exercises that you will learn as you progress through the ranking system which will enable you to perform the self defense techniques.

Am I too old to start martial arts?You are never too old to begin martial arts training! Karate regularly has students start from adolescence through their 60's and older. Our class regime involves a series of movements that stimulate the body and mind, offering many health benefits.

What should I wear to my first class?Anything comfortable and loose fitting, and nothing hanging below ankle level; tshirt, tracksuits or shorts are more than suitable! Whenever you are ready, you can purchase a Gi (Karate Uniform).

I am very busy with my work schedule, how much time do I need to devote to Karate classes?"1 - 2 classes a week are recommended, as is practicing at home. If you want additional one to one attention, we offer private lessons in Bushey which can help you further hone your skills.
